How To Make Blueberry Scones
Easy and delicious blueberry scones with a moist and buttery texture, perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
-
Add the cold cubed butter to the dry mixture and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and vanilla extract. Slowly pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined.
-
Gently fold in the fresh blueberries.
-
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it a few times until it comes together. Be careful not to overmix or the scones will become tough.
-
Pat the dough into a circle about 3/4 inch thick. Cut the dough into 8 triangles.
-
Place the scones onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown on top.
-
Remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
